The flexible plastic road dividers commonly used on narrow city roads to divide traffic are turning dangerous due to the lack of replacement.
These plastic posts are easy to install, as they can be bolted directly to the road surface. However, these plastic posts are not entirely effective in lane management as they bend easily, allowing unruly vehicles to pass over.

As a matter of concern to all road users, with the passage of time, the plastic posts get damaged but are not replaced or repaired by the installing authorities. This poses a serious threat to all motorists. The screws by which they are fixed to the road surface often lie exposed as the posts get uprooted, causing tyre bursts.

Motorists should be extremely cautious while plying over these damaged road dividers and ensure they avoid the screws protruding out of the road surface.
We appeal to the authorities to take speedy action to replace such damaged road furniture to ensure ‘safe drives to save lives’.
