The yellow-black plastic speed-bumps or speed-breakers commonly used in recent times are effective traffic calming devices used to slow down vehicular traffic for safety.

These plastic speed-breakers are easy to install on almost all kinds of roads by bolting them directly to the road surfaces. However, as a matter of concern to all road users, the damaged plastic speed-breakers are not getting replaced or repaired by the installing authorities, posing serious threats to all passing vehicles. The screws by which they are fixed to the road surface often lie exposed on the plastic ware, causing major damages to vehicle tyres, which often leads to tyre bursts.

Motorists should be extremely cautious while crossing the damaged plastic speed-breakers and carefully avoid driving over the screws protruding out of the road surface.
We appeal to the traffic authorities to ensure that these safety devices, which have turned unsafe themselves, causing more harm than good, be replaced or repaired at regular intervals.
