The much talked about riverfront beautification is ready. From Prinsep Ghat in the south to Chandpal Ghat in the north, a wonderful tiled walkway, 1.8 km long, has been constructed along the Hooghly modelled on the styles of London. It is a part of the ‘beautification of riverfront’ initiative by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, funded by KMC and KMDA with RITES as the consulting and implementing agency.

? Man-o-War Jetty: This 100 m long stretch under the Indian Navy allows passage to the general public only between 6 – 8 am.

? Meen Mangal Ghat: The statue of Matsyourvashi is the highlight of this stretch. A quaint deck with the balustrade jutting out into the river – a perfect spot for romancing the sunset.
