New Town is growing in leaps and bounds! To support this expansion and for the convenience of commuters, interlinking roads are being laid at impressive speed. Recently, a new route has been opened between Narkelbagan in New Town and Salt Lake Sector-V. Team WHEELS surveyed the new link to assess its efficacy in avoiding the growing congestion on Biswa Bangla Sarani and was pleasantly surprised to reach Ring Road in Salt Lake Sector-V like a breeze. Here is the direction to the newly carved route.

Ring Road

ROUTE:
From Eco Park, head south towards HIDCO Bhawan and continue forward.

Trip 0.0 km: Drive straight through the Narkelbagan Crossing – passing below the Biswa Bangla Gate, to enter the new six-lane Major Arterial Road (SE Extension), with a very wide median (do not turn right into Biswa Bangla Sarani).

Trip 2.7 km: Meet a T-junction with a small market. Take a short right and an immediate left to pass under a height-restriction barrier over an iron bridge, called Lohapool and proceed forward. 

Trip 3.6 km: Meet a T-junction facing a huge lake to turn right. Pass through Mahishbatan by Krishnapur Main Road and proceed towards Ring Road in Salt Lake Sector-V. The water-body continues on the left.

Trip 4.7 km: Take the sharp left bent to meet Ring Road in Sector-V with the E-commerce Parcel Hub at the junction. Follow Ring Road to proceed towards Nicco Park, passing Sector-V on your right.

Trip 5.9 km: Follow Ring Road and take the right bent towards the SDF Building. Proceed towards Nicco Park.

Trip 7.6 km: Meet Biswa Bangla Sarani at Nicco Park junction. Turn left from Bowler’s Den to proceed towards Eastern Metropolitan Bypass.
