A car needs good maintenance. An appropriate method has to be followed for good maintenance of any part of a car. Looking for short cut solutions will also affect the reliability of the part in the long run. Hence, 'Car Detailing' can help to keep your car in the best shape and improve its value. Proper detailing of paint or interior parts using proper method and products is mandatory for extending the look of your beloved car. Another important aspect of maintenance is proper technique. Hard rubbing on paint and scrubbing leather with a hard brush will not only deteriorate their looks but also their longevity.

This is where professional detailing comes into the picture. Work done by people trained to perform each activity with the correct quantity and right product will not only preserve the look of your new vehicle but also last its lifetime. Using world class, certified and award winning products and well trained technicians is what we call detailing. Interior Detailing The average perception is that cleaning interiors - seats and plastics with detergent is the best, cheapest and often the only method.

The truth is that detergent is designed for clothes, not for high quality leather and PU seats. They require high quality leather and upholstery cleaners designed by companies who have spent millions on R&D. Leather upholstery has to be first cleaned with specialised leather cleaner which is designed to clean spotlessly and at the same time be gentle on the leather so as to not harm it. Then it has to be conditioned with a leather conditioner which will soften it and keep it supple for long. Plastics need to be cleaned and protected with a protectant, which will keep dust from settling on it and also prevent fading. Exterior Detailing We decide upon the paint shade of the car while purchasing it. It’s proven that the paint shade of our car somewhere defines who we are. So why not keep that paint looking as good as possible?

To start with, we wash the car with a two-bucket-method along with microfiber towels so as to inflict the least damage to the paint possible and at the same time clean it well. After washing we have to decontaminate the paint; remove tar, tree pollen, small dirt particles and iron - which do not go away with just a wash no matter what shampoo we use. This is where we need to use paint decontaminants to make it absolutely clean. Claying and de-ironing are two methods to clean the paint. Using kerosene, diesel etc. are harmful for the paint. Then after assessing the paint condition we have to use the least aggressive compounds to clear swirl marks, light scratches, dullness etc. to bring out the gloss in the paint.

This has to be done before we use polishes because if the base is not right, the top will never be as good as it can be. After compounding, we polish the paint to further refine it and bring out the gloss. After all the hard work of polishing and correcting the paint, we have to lock it in with a sealant or wax or coating so that the finish stays for some time. Properly engineered waxes and sealants not only protect the paint for a long time but also give the paint some additional gloss. Please avoid cheap waxes and sealants; good sealants and waxes are never cheap. Meguiars, Swissvax, Optimum, Dodo Juice are some companies who make the best sealants and waxes. Hoping to see more and more car enthusiasts do that extra bit to make their cars look the best
